What a golf simulator event actually is
A Mobile Golf Co event is not golf simulator hire in the traditional sense. We don't drop off equipment and leave you with it.
Every activation is fully staffed and managed. We arrive at the venue, set up the full simulator rig — inflatable or compact indoor enclosure, Rapsodo MLM2 Pro launch monitor, BenQ projector, commercial hitting mat — and our professional host runs the experience from arrival to packdown.
Guests don't need to touch anything, manage anything, or know anything about golf. The host handles all of it.
This distinction matters because the event experience depends on it. A piece of equipment with a sign that says "have a go" is a curiosity. A hosted activation with a running competition, a leaderboard, and a professional facilitating the experience is entertainment.
Who it works for
The short answer: anyone hosting an event where they want engaged guests.
Corporate events and team building — The most common use case. Structured competition, leaderboard mechanics, and software that works for non-golfers combine to create the kind of entertainment that gets talked about in Slack on Monday morning. See the corporate event packages and team building activities Brisbane guide.
Race day VIP hospitality — Race day crowds have hours between races. A golf simulator in the VIP hospitality enclosure fills that time with competitive, sponsored engagement. Full detail in the race day activation guide and VIP race day hospitality guide.
Weddings — Cocktail hour entertainment that works for every guest, no golf knowledge required. The wedding hire page covers setup specifics for wedding venues.
Parties and celebrations — Milestone birthdays, private functions, end-of-year celebrations. Golf simulator for parties covers the private event format.
Trade shows and exhibitions — Brand activation and crowd draw on conference and trade show floors. High dwell time, sponsor integration, repeat participation. See the trade show activation page.
Fundraisers — Competitive format with a leaderboard and a prize creates a natural fundraising mechanic. Golf simulator for fundraisers covers this use case.
Sports bars and venues — Recurring entertainment for late-night or weekly formats. Sports bars and breweries covers the venue operator setup.

The technology behind the experience
Every activation uses the same technology stack:
Rapsodo MLM2 Pro — camera-based launch monitor that captures real shot data: ball speed, smash factor, launch angle, spin rate, and shot shape. Not estimated — measured directly. The Rapsodo MLM2 Pro guide explains what it measures and why it matters at events.
GSPro or Awesome Golf — two software options serving different event types. GSPro is realistic course simulation; Awesome Golf is accessible mini-games for mixed and non-golf audiences. Full comparison: GSPro vs Awesome Golf.
BenQ projector — short-throw, high-brightness. Clean projection inside both enclosure types.
Inflatable or compact indoor enclosure — we run both. The inflatable is for outdoor and large indoor spaces; the compact unit suits function rooms with lower ceilings. Both use the same technology inside. See the enclosure comparison guide or the detailed inflatable explainer.
For the data nerds: the ideal launch monitor metrics by club covers the benchmarks for driver through wedge, and the launch monitor data explainer gives context on what the numbers actually mean.

What makes a good golf simulator event
A few things consistently determine the quality of the experience:
The host. The equipment creates the setup. The host creates the experience. Knowing when to guide, when to step back, how to manage a competition with 80 people without it feeling chaotic — that's a skill. Our host is included at every activation.
The competition format. Without a leaderboard or competitive structure, guests take one or two shots and move on. With a running competition — closest-to-the-pin, longest drive, points-based team format — people come back across the event to improve their score. That repeat participation is what produces an event people remember.
Software matched to the crowd. GSPro for golf-educated audiences. Awesome Golf for mixed groups. Wrong choice reduces the experience significantly for guests who aren't comfortable with the format. We recommend based on the brief.
Enough time. A 4-hour activation handles 60–80 guests comfortably in a competition format. Book accordingly, or ask us to recommend the right duration.
